F.A.Q.What is Green Light Flix?
It is the world's first eco Motion Picture studio run by "crowd power." It is a place where Storytellers and Fans can come together to raise money for Productions and communicate during all stages of the process of Producing eco-friendly motion picture productions.
In exchange for your support, we will have annual raffles and give away VIP Perks & free stuff such as DVDs, T-Shirts, posters, premier tickets, and more.
Supporters around the world are also welcome to submit their completed scripts for feature length or short films, documentaries, TV Pilots, educational videos, and any other kind of film or video project that they feel will prove to be entertaining and educational.
Eventually, we plan to develop into a DVD of the month style club; offering our Members the types of pro-eco, pro-animal rights, pro-vegetarian/vegan films and videos they want to see.
Why did you launch GreenLightFlix?
Our plan is to promote stories that showcase the best humanity has to offer. We want to encourage the production of stories that inspire, motivate, excite, and encourage people to be the best they can be. GreenLight Flix strictly encourages the production of “pro-eco, pro-animal rights, and pro vegetarian / vegan” stories.
What is the inspiration behind GreenLight Flix?
Well, the most recent examples are YEAR OF THE DOG and SAINTS & ANGELS. But most of all we are are inspired by legendary Hollywood Producer Ivan Tors who in the late 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, and early 1980s was one of the most successful Producers in Hollywood History. How did he do it? Easy. He produced quality films that everyone could learn from and enjoy --- and they starred animals!
With such successful films & TV shows as FLIPPER, SEA HUNT, GENTLE BEN, DAKTARI, COWBOY IN AFRICA, NAMU THE KILLER WHALE, CLARENCE THE CROSS-EYED LION, and more, he almost single handedly changed the way animals were viewed by people around the world and treated by the entertainment industry. He made a positive difference. His films and TV shows created more animal lovers and environmentalists than almost anyone or anything has before or since.
So, what kind of feature films are you looking for?
Check out YEAR OF THE DOG and ALL THE LITTLE ANIMALS. Those were great stories that had comedy and drama. In addition to documentaries and videos, we want to produce fictional films like those.
What is the Game Plan for your company?
- We plan to promote stories that showcase the best humanity has to offer.
- We will produce the Projects ourselves or hire experienced Producers to Produce them.

What about the budgets? Can you really produce films and videos without millions of dollars?
With the development of amazing technologies, high quality feature films and videos can be produced on a budget that was unheard of years ago. We know from experience that feature films and video productions can be made for for relatively low budgets without sacrificing quality ---- as long as Storytellers follow our criteria. Remember, we might just be making small, low budget films or videos, but we have the opportunity, and the capacity, for a big impact.
DONATIONS
Do I have to be an animal lover or environmental activist or vegetarian or vegan to make a donation?
Well, we prefer Fans who are really going to get involved and support our vision. But everyone who is interested in the vision of creating a “Green Studio” is welcome around the green light. Please join us.
So anyone can make a donationr?
You must be at least 13 years old. We encourage anyone under 13 to share their Parents' or legal guardian's contribution.
How many Members will be allowed?
Given a choice, we would prefer that millions of animal and nature lovers around the world all join for $25.00 and make consistent donations of at least $1.00 per month. At this time we are only looking for 50,000 people to make consistent donations and contribute their ideas and feedback to the company, but that can change in the future.
How do I join GreenLightFlix?
Simple. Go to the the Membership page and choose your membership plan and make a donation.
How long are the Memberships?
GreenLightFlix offers annual Memberships. If Members wish to continue participating in GreenLightFlix beyond their first year, they must renew their Membership by paying their annual dues. However, Members are under no obligation to participate in GreenLightFlix for any specific length of time.
How do I terminate my Membership?
Memberships will automatically terminate if the annual Membership dues are not paid. This fee will not be prorated for Members who participate in GreenLightFlix for less than a twelve month period.
Are Membership dues refundable?
Membership dues are not refundable nor will they be prorated for members who participate in GreenLightFlix for less than a twelve month period.
Will I be an owner of GreenLightFlix?
Due to SEC regulations and filings, GreenLightFlix can not be owned by it's Members.
What are the benefits of Membership?
Members will be entered in annual raffles to win various types of merchandise. Members will have the satisfaction of knowing that they are providing considerable and meaningful support to getting films and videos produced that promote environmental and animal themes, and showing activists, vegetarians and vegans in a positive light, while helping to mange a new eco-friendly production company.
Who own the Company?
GreenLightFlix is presently a privately held company but we are in discussions right now to create a 501(c)(3).
What decisions will Members be involved in making?
The Board of Advisers will decide on which films and videos will be produced based on project ideas and scripts submitted by members.
Members are welcome to give their feedback on projects to be produced, and will vote on marketing ideas (choosing poster and DVD artwork, and more).
Members will help choose which non-profit organizations to donate money to.
Other creative decisions will come up periodically.
Are Members the sole governing body for the Company?
GreenLightFlix as taken the liberty of coordinating a board of directors & advisors. We also have an experienced management team to lead project management, operations, marketing, and financial management decisions.
Will Members be liable for the Company's financial or other obligations?
No. Members will never be held liable for any of GreenLightFlix's obligations, financial or otherwise.
Can Members be held liable for decisions detrimental to the Company?
No, but we expect out Members will always feel compelled to make sound decisions that are in the best interests of the Company.
What will be done with all the donations?
Money collected from donations will provide the capital necessary to develop, produce, promote and distribute feature films, TV shows and Videos.
When will the donations be collected?
Donations fees will be collected when Members join. Recurring donations will be collected based on how the donor initially decides: monthly, quarterly, or annually.
What will the Company do with all of its profits?
10% of its net profit will be donated to environmental & animal welfare, rescue, adoption organizations. The remaining profits will be reinvested in GreenLightFlix to finance film, TV and video productions.
Why do you only accept U.S. money?
Because we are based in the U.S.A., at least 75% of the productions are shot in the U.S.A., and because U.S. currency is accepted and accessible all over the world.
PRODUCTIONS
I am a Storyteller. Does being a Member guarantee that my script will be accepted?
No. Please submit your scripts and they will be voted upon. If more than 60% of our Board of Advisers vote YES, and your Project meets our criteria, and the funds are available, your project will be produced. Remember, a lot of different storytellers have the same ideas, so please don't be surprised if an idea similar to yours is produced.
I have experience as part of crew on film/video productions. Can I work on your productions?

Why should I submit my script to GreenLightFlix?
Well, if you have taken the time to write a script that shows animal or eco activists or Vegetarians/Vegans in a positive light, we are confident that you are interested in having people see your great work. Our Members are your audience. If your Script is accepted you will be paid for your contribution plus you will have a worldwide base of Fans who are ready and willing to support the Project. Also, we are a great resource for you to connect with, build and engage your fans.
Do I need to have a finished script before submitting an idea?
Well, unless you have an incredible amount of experience and credibility that will give our Members 100% confidence in your abilities (such as a documentary based on your well-known and respected published book, or you are an experienced Writer or Director), then we highly recommend that all storytellers submit a professional scripts.
What information do you need about my Project when I submit it to you?
We recommend that you e-mail us as many of the following as possible: Your completed synopsis, script or treatment, proposal, marketing plan, schedule, budget, reviews of any previous projects you worked on, biographies and head shots of any attached cast and crew that might want to be involved.
How long will my Script or Story Idea be considered by GreenLightFlix?
Your Project will remain under consideration by GreenLightFlix for as long as you want it to or unless we remove it for some reason. However, we hope to respond to everyone within twelve (12) months from the date of submission. If the Project is voted on and the funds are available within a month - great! Pre-Production will begin.
If my script or story idea is accepted, can I invest some of my own money or funds from another source to help raise the budget?

My Project meets all your criteria and it has already been completed, but we ran out of money for Post-Production/Marketing/Distribution, etc. Can I submit the project to GreenLightFlix to raise the rest of the funds needed?
Yes! We can raise money for distribution or marketing expenses, too. Also, you can raise funds to re-shoot your production in case you shot it once very quickly, without the budget you needed to produce it correctly. Just remember that we will negotiate to receive a portion of net profits generated. Please e-mail us for details.

Can a Storyteller decide to remove their Project from consideration by the GreenLightFlix website?
Yes. The only obligation for a Storyteller is to allow us to produce the film or video once it has been accepted and is in pre-production.
What is the Storyteller's role in the production process?
If you are the Screenwriter, you will either Direct the film (if you are qualified) or you will help choose a qualified Director. If you are a qualified Director, you will work closely with the Screenwriter, Director of Photography, cast and crew.
Who decided what the budget of each project will be?
Once a Storyteller submits a script, he or she should also submit to us an approximate idea of how much money needs to be raised. Based on our experience, we will either agree, or help put together a more accurate budget. Once the Budget is in place, GreenLightFlix will hire a qualified and experienced Unit Production Manager who will put together a detailed budget and will make sure the money is spent wisely. All though it will sometimes be possible that a Production can be completed for much less than what was raised, additional funds can be used for better locations, better cast and crew, better equipment, and for promotional purposes.
What is the maximum budget that will be applied to a production?
At this point, we do not recommend that any Script require a budget of more than $100,000. That being said, if we are able to secure a well-known cast and/or Director, then we are ready and willing to raise the budget.
How many projects will be produced annually?
As many as possible. ½ hour video productions such as Vegan cooking shows (for example) or pilots can be produced for as little as $5,000. Documentaries can range from $5,000 - $100,000. Feature films can range from $10,000 - $1.5 million.
How does GreenLightFlix and its Principals make money?
We are considering selling Advertising on our website. We will generate revenue through DVD and download sales, and associated merchandise. As experienced filmmakers, we also Produce or Co-Produce the film or video productions. We also benefit from the interest derived from the money from Memberships sold on GreenLightFlix that is accumulated in an Escrow account. However, we do not touch the money until we have enough funds to produce Projects.
Who owns the Master of the completed Project?
The Screenwriter always owns the Copyright to his or her script, but GreenLightFlix will own the Master of the Completed films and videos.
